Gabby Hyman is a fiction writer from Brooklyn, New York, who moved to California with the Dodgers. He has lived, traveled, and/or taught fiction writing in Washington, Alaska, Virginia, Illinois, Alabama, Hawaii, Japan, England, France, Italy, Greece, and Israel -- where he harvested bananas on the Sea of Galilee.
Gabby holds an MFA degree in fiction writing from the University of Alabama and misses Dreamland barbecue. His paper on musical influences in Hemingway's prose was delivered at Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy -- not far from where young Hem was shot during WWI. Gabby's favorite place to sit and meditate is near Port Angeles, Washington, by the grave of Ray Carver, overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Ring them bells, Ray.
